In a joint statement on Saturday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Bulk Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) decreased President Trump’s offer to offer fast coronavirus tests for members of Congress.
” Congress is grateful for the Administration’s generous deal to release fast COVID-19 testing capabilities to Capitol Hill, but we respectfully decline the deal at this time,” the declaration checks out “Our nation’s testing capabilities are continuing to scale up nationwide and Congress wishes to keep directing resources to the front-line centers where they can do the most excellent the most rapidly.”
Health and Human Being Provider Secretary Alex Azar tweeted late Friday that 1,000 tests and three rapid-results testing machines were offered. The president tweeted today that there was “incredible CoronaVirus screening capability in Washington for the Senators” who are due to report back to D.C. on Monday.
