Coachella revealed that it’s canceling its annual two-weekend music celebration in an effort to include the coronavirus break out.
” While this choice comes at a time of universal unpredictability, we take the security and health of our guests, personnel, and community very seriously,” the celebration’s promoter Goldenvoice said in a declaration posted by the Coachella Twitter account. “We advise everybody to follow the standards and protocols presented by public health officials.”
Goldenvoice included that the festival would be delayed up until October 2020, which any purchases for the initial dates would be honored for the rescheduled weekend. Goldenvoice will inform buyers by March 13 about refunds.
The festival was to include headliners like Rage Versus the Device, Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean.
Coachella’s postponement follows a string of events canceled due to the fact that of the novel coronavirus, which triggers the breathing disease known as COVID-19 The Centers for Illness Control report647 cases as of Tuesday, but other models recommend much higher numbers that aren’t symptomatic. On March 6, South by Southwest canceled its Austin, Texas events. On Monday, Ireland canceled all Saint Patrick’s Day parades. Both Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden canceled their rallies in Cleveland on Tuesday night.
Coachella, a minimum of, is confident that it’ll return.
” Thank you for your continued assistance and we look forward to seeing you in the desert this fall,” Goldenvoice said in the declaration.
