Another resident at Extendicare’s West End Villa has died of complications due to COVID-19, the long-term care home announced Sunday evening.
The death is the 13th in the latest outbreak at the home.
A seventh staff member at Centre d’accueil Champlain has tested positive for COVID-19 since an outbreak was declared at the long-term care home on Sept. 11.
In a memo to council on Sunday night, Dean Lett, director of long-term care, said no resident had tested positive at the city-run facility.
Lett also said the outbreak status at the Peter D. Clark Centre had been lifted after the home had gone 14 days without a new resident or staffer case. He said regular activities would gradually resume for both residents and families at the home.
An outbreak continues at the Garry J. Armstrong home, which has has two active staff member cases and one involving a resident.
