A popular Sydney club has been fined after undercover compliance officers saw coronavirus breaches.
The Watsons Bay Hotel in the city’s east was hit with the $5,000 fine after safety violations were noticed on Friday night.
Patrons were standing and drinking and gaming makers were not spaced out, according to Liquor and Video Gaming NSW.
Director of Compliance Dimitri Argeres stated 15 venues had been fined in the past three weeks.
” While most places are making serious efforts to comply with all the conditions, it’s frustrating that some are just not getting the message,” Argeres stated.
” Flouting these steps is not just bad for the health and wellness of patrons; it’s likewise bad for organisation.”
Undercover officers also participated in the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Double Bay where earlier photos of lines out the door led to tighter policies.
They stated the hotel had “gained from its mistake” and was totally compliant with extra steps in location.
