IPOH, Aug 1– The Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) is in the midst of drawing up preparatory steps that will be carried out to ensure the security of all celebrations during the Slim state by-election.
Its director Azmi Osman stated among the initial steps to be taken by JBPM was offering advisory service on safety-related problems to hotels and homestays in the Slim state constituency and the surrounding areas.
” We will focus on locations specifically, Tanjung Malim, Slim River and Bidor,” he told press reporters at a sacrificial ritual program and a fire safety project at the Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Station here today.
Azmi stated the department would likewise perform sanitisation operations at public locations in numerous essential areas such as food properties to prevent the spread of Covid-19
The Slim by-election was called following the death of incumbent Datuk Mohd Khushairi Abdul Talib on July 15.
The Election Committee (EC) set August 29 as Slim by-election polling day and August 15 as nomination day and August 25 for early ballot.
In the 14 th General Election, Mohd Khusairi of Barisan Nasional safeguarded the Slim state seat for the 4th term with a majority of 2,183 votes, defeating Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) prospect who objected to on PH ticket, Mohd Amran Ibrahim and PAS prospect Muhammad Zulfadli Zainal.– Bernama
